Borderland State Park with Gavin

On the border of Easton and Sharon there is a State Park called Borderland.  There was a ponding adventure that we decided Gavin would like and it gave us a great opportunity to split the kids up (and my parents) and have some time just my dad, myself and Gavin.  It was a lovely morning!

Here we all are at the pond

can you spot the frog?

Gavin did!

We looked at many things with just our eyes, the binoculars, magnifying glasses and even a microscope to look at the pond's smallest creatures.  Here is some of what we saw:

Flowers (pollen is neat looking up close)

Caterpillars

Moths

Date Night

Thanks mom/dad for watching the kids while Dave and I ate at the Garden Grille in Pawtucket, RI.  It was a great restaurant and I look forward to bringing the kids there one day.

visit to Lubec, ME

Here are pictures from our yearly summer trip to visit Grandma/Mary/Mom in Lubec, ME.

This is the welcome center where I left my wallet

I love the trail of footprints here

These are what proper Maine feet look like :)

Perseverance!

The bell at the Eastern most point Lighthouse (at the rocky beach)

had to wait for tide to recede before we could explore
In Lubec, one pays more attention to the tide times than the real times

Love at the Lighthouse!

this is as close we could get to a posed lighthouse pic with the kids this year...
