Week 10

Sorry I am a little behind on this. I went to Washington DC for a week long conference. Our fetus is the size of a kumquat.

Week 8

This week's update is coming a bit early due to our slight switch in estimated due date (now: 1/25/09), more accurately estimated by our first ultrasound (dates shifted by 5 days so we are now 8 wks and 2 days). I guess our little fertilized egg traveled and implanted a bit faster thanmost! Our embryo is now comparable to the size of a kidney bean (just over1/2 inch long) and is constantly moving and shifting. In our ultrasound weactually saw it move and of course the heart was beating (164 bpm, whichthey said was perfect). Fortunately it was in the uterus and not a fallopian tube. As for me, I am still morning sickness free and my crampsare less frequent and my fatigue isn't even as bad as it had been. I have to admit, I took another home pregnancy test just to be sure before we wentto the dr appt--that is how good I am feeling! I also think I may begetting a tiny tiny tummy but of course it is hard to see because I always used to have a little pouch there anyway (but now it remains versus going flat when I lie down). OK, I'll stop blabbering on. Have fun reading week8's article (click below).

Week 7

Hello family!
We are now officially in week 7 of our pregnancy. Click on the "full article" link below to read what is going on with your grandson/daughter, niece/nephew. The tail is starting to receed, there are knees and the toes are starting to form, and the eyes/ears are very prominent. While most other women are puking and being very moody I find that I am feeling even better than last week and I think Dave will attest to the fact that I haven't even been the least bit moody. I still have cramps, fatigue and sore breasts but it could be much worse. I'm not sure if it is just the bloating or actual growth but my pants are definitely less comfortable than they used to be. Our first OB-GYN appt is tomorrow so I'll let you know how that went with our next weekly update.
Can't wait to see you all :)
Love,
Stacie

Week 6

Hello everyone!
Can you believe it has been a whole week since I sent you an update? Well I am finally feeling a little bit of morning sickness but it isn't too bad and it isn't confined to the morning either. Basically, whenever I get hungry that is when food seems the least appetizing to me. I am also more and more sensitive to smells and tastes. Just yesterday I smelled a wood fire out of nowhere and we determined that it had to have been the fireplace I was sitting by (we were house-sitting for my boss). It is just weird that I had been sitting there for an hour or so and that smell just popped out at me suddenly.
Funny stuff,
Stacie

PS- there is this website that tells you how big your embryo/fetus is at each stage by comparing it to something edible and apparently right now our embryo is the size of a lentil bean :)
