Boston (8/28-8/30/09)
Mia was very good during her grandpas funeral (8/29/09). She made many sad people just a touch happier. That is her job-to bring smiles- and she did as best she could under the circumstances. She also met a new batch of cousins: Rachel and Josh and their two sons Zach and Sam. They fed her and let her play in their room. We stayed with my brother and brother in law for the weekend in Boston and they were moving that same Sunday (8/30/09). So Dave and I helped watch Randall and it was so cute when they needed to take a nap in the play yard together (bed had been moved). I have a brand new appreciation for parents of twins and daycares. Randall was having trouble going to sleep, which kept Mia up a bit and then Mia was ready to wake up before Randall, which woke him up early :) But it was worth having them together because Randall, who can crawl, pull up and get from sitting to any other position inspired Mia to start moving as well. She can now go from tummy to hands and knees and will push back until she gets across the whole room backwards!
On the way home Mia ordered from the kids menu for the first time! We had forgotten her baby food at Matt and Harolds and went to Cracker Barrel since they have so many veggie side dishes. The waitress rinsed the sugar/butter off the carrots and we got the applesauce as well. I drank her milk that came with her "meal".
Back in Binghamton
Yesterday (9/5/09), Mia started to make some kissing noises. I can't wait until she plants one on me. For now she is an expert hugger (and hair tugger) and I love every squeeze.
Pictures to come. . .
